Position Overview

We are seeking a talented Interior Designer with strong technical skills to join our team. In this role, you will work directly with our design principle to develop and manage active interior design projects, as well as provide CAD support, including managing the firm’s CAD standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage multiple active interior design project documents using our firm’s developed CAD standards.
  • Coordinate interior design components, including cabinetry, tile patterns, nomenclature, and installation details for project documents.
  • Set up project files, including translating and migrating consultants’ base files into X-Refs or backgrounds for use in developing the firm’s interior design drawing sets.
  • Coordinate additional plan sheets, elevations, enlarged plans, and details through project completion. Work alongside the design team to continually update drawings, issue job site revisions and review shop drawings.
  • Integrate 3D modeling into current projects.
  • Create and manage details and block libraries, including the development of special details.
  • Ensure ongoing drawing updates and accurate plotting, troubleshooting issues with consultant base files and our own file setup.
  • Work with the design principal to refine standards and improve CAD efficiency.
  • Continually document all work processes for ease of reference and training for additional team members.

Minimum Work Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience managing construction documents for active projects in the high-end residential interior design market. *This is not your first job in this field.
  • 2-4 years of experience with 3D modeling and integrating 3D work into projects.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Interior Design, Architecture, and/or Technical Drafting.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for local applicants.
  • Expertise in interior design components and standards including construction methodology, tile installation, stone fabrication and custom millwork and cabinetry.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively as well as independently.
  • Must have access to your own laptop and Autodesk CAD Software.
  • Experience using Dropbox, Asana, and Loom for communication and project management.
  • Extremely organized and detail-oriented with schedules, emails, communication, measurements, drawings, and presentations.
  • Ability to perform accurate, consistent, and detail-oriented work while managing simultaneous deadlines.
  • Ability to handle constructive feedback and work in a team environment.
  • Strong sense of humor.

Job Type: Part-Time, Contract (Potential to convert to full-time)
Pay: Hourly Rate based on Experience & Skills
Schedule: 15-30 hours per week
